statement of process

After I thought of my topic, which is women suffrage I decide my first genre should be character profile. I think I should know who is the main women, that fight hard for their rights. I went to Google and type in ''Elizabeth- women suffrage'', I know that she is one of the main people that fight for women right. As I read about her life I saw a name that call Alice Paul. I like the name and start googling on her. I really like what she did to fight for women suffrage, so my first chraracter profile is about her!

After I finish my first post, I went to the 7th grade humanities blog and look at the list of genres. I saw the word poem and I think it's easy, so I start to type a poem about how the women felt when they are basically treated like a slave. But as I start to think, the poem start to get really hard for some reason. I ask my friend to think of something that have to do with women suffrage. I finish, and I thank for the people that helps me. If I type my poem and think all to myself it'll take 3 days!

I think timeline should be my next genre, so I went to Google and type in ''women suffrage -timeline'' . I got bunch of website of information I need. I'm pretty glad and pick one. The next thing I know was a bunch of data and event. OMG! I can't copy and paste, ''what should i do?'' I ask myself. I read all the data in the timeline and took ms.sackstein's advice, which is '' make it to your own word'' It took pretty long, but I finish it!

Then I decide to do descriptive paragraph, cause it seem pretty easy. But you need to be specific. My paragraph is about when did women suffrage begin, and the main women that fight for their rights. I try to make it specific, and I also try to write down the most inportant deatail.

My next genre was a letter. Susan B. Anthony is writing a letter to her mother. I try to pretend that I was Susan B. Anthony. But writing a letter to her mom was pretty hard, cause I need to organize the data and the date that she is writing to her mom. I went to google again and type in timeline of Susan B. Anthony, so I know her better.

I pick Map as my next genre. I think I should pick something easy next, so I pick map. I went to Google and type '' map of women suffrage'', and click image. There is few map that is clear and have good information it. I don't know that I should write what's going on in the map. Ms. sackstein comment and told me that I have to write what's going on, so I wrote a sentence or two.

I went to 7th grade humanities blog and look for the list of different genre. I don't know how to do some of them, and Ms. sackstein said we can do it more than one times. So, I decide to do character profile again. This time I am going to do bullet points about Susan B. Anthony. I found out she didn't live to see women gain their right. I really like her character, and how strong she is!

Then I write poem again, cause I think I start to like them when my friend read her's out loud. This time I wrote about the men point of view. I try to think as a guy, and I write it down in a piece of paper. Then I change it to a poem and post it to the blog.

I pick map again for my 9th genre. Of course I went to google and got my map there. The map said '' women suffrage before the nineteenth Amendment 1920'' On the bottom it have bars fill with different color, which represent states that have women suffrage.

My last genre was a letter again. Elizabeth Cady stanton's letter to her father. Her partner Susan B. anthony, fight for women suffrage with her. She also didn't live to see women gain their right. Elizabeth was a great writee and susan was a great speaker, so both of them make a great partner!

Reflection

I was really shock when Ms. Sackstein gave us another project. After I start working on my blog project, I start to think it's not that hard to complete. I was thinking about doing slavery but I think I should do something new. So, after thinking about it for 3 hours I finally decide to do women suffrage.

Ms.Sackstein gave us many project to improve our learning skill. I learned many thing about women suffrage after all that researching and thinking. My grammar improve as I start posting and revising. I learn more about the women that's going through at that time period.

The project start to get challenging and fun at the same time. There are many genres that I have a hard time to work on. I got trouble understanding how to do the advertisement, monologue, and experiment. So, I will go to my classmate's blogs and see if they did one of those. I still don't quite get it. One of the genre that I think is hard is 1 act play, OK, maybe it's not that hard but I amitt that I was too lazy to do it.

I face many challenges such as finding good information and source. I also try to find the timeline of that person that was writing a letter to her parent. The reason that I was finding the timeline of the person that was involve with women suffrage was because I want to sent the data straight when she's writing the letter. One thing that came easily in this project, is finding the trustworthy site and got the right information, and create the post.

I try to avoid the some information that have nothing to do with my topic of women suffrage. As I start researching I learned many new things about women suffrage, ex: the time of each women going through while fighting for their right. It took about 70 years to finally gain their right. If it took that long, I might give up already.

I have trouble paying attention to my spelling and grammar. I got trouble looking for my mistake after I publish it. So I'll ask my classmate to check what did i did wrong, and something I ask them to go to my blog and comment. There are many errors that I still need to correct, but ms. sackstein help me alot by commenting on my blog and give me some good advice!

I felt really proud after I finish my blog, after all my hard work. I know that I still can inprove more, cause writing is all about rvising and make it better. I'm really thankful to ms.sackstein cause she really tries to improve our weak point to a strong one!
